Howdy everyone. I've got quite the update for y'all. Again. For fuck's sake...
"Well fuck me sideways and call me Jerry" as an old friend of mine would say back in high school. Kapwing has greatly reduced the amount of storage allocated to users. The Pro plan offered 500 GB of storage and the Business plan offered 1 TB. Now? That number has been reduced dramatically. Pro users only get 100 GB and Business users only get 500 GB.
That's bullshit!
Fuck that!
Why don't old users get to keep their original storage plans?
What the hell?!
My running theory is that because of their desire to go all-in on Generative AI-based video production tools, they have increasing storage demands for those tools, so they're taking storage away from the users.
Again. That's bullshit.
At its most compressed, my video archive is roughly 290 GB. Its well on its way to be 3x the new limit.
That's where the unfortunate news comes in.
I wanted to originally host my ENTIRE catalogue of Let's Plays on this website utilizing Kapwing as the host, but that is no longer possible. Also, seeing as it's a fucking pain in the ass to find a new video host, I decided to wipe everything from my Kapwing account except for Front Mission and Ghost Recon. As it stands, I don't have any other alternatives, so I'll need to stick to Kapwing for the time being. I've also taken the liberty of resetting the numbering system so that Front Mission and Ghost Recon are now Web Let's Play #1 and #2, respectively, to hallmark this new era.
All I can do now is pray to my godly patrons that I can get a well-paying job so I can afford something way more permanent in the future.
