Howdy, howdy, you fine folks! I have a fresh update for y'all! Multiple, even.
For starters, I found a new storage host: Dropbox! (DropBox? Drop Box? Who cares!)
I'm currently on their "Plus" plan of $11.99/month (before tax) which gives 2 TB of storage. Seeing as how I'm compressing everything down to the "Wifi High" quality option in Compressor, this should last me a long time. At some point in the very far future, I might consider upping the quality again to maybe a solid 480p (it's currently at around 360p now). I'm also considering moving Front Mission and Ghost Recon off of Kapwing and onto Dropbox and updating all of those pages at some point in the near (or far) future.
Speaking of the future, specifically the near future, let's talk about Web Let's Play #03 - Animal Crossing (GCN)! As I am writing this, the current requirements for ending that series is to completely pay off all home loans (done!) and complete the museum (one wing done!). Getting fish and bugs is easy, as that can be done with a little bit of time traveling, but the real bottle-neck here is the art wing. The thing with Animal Crossing is that all of the artwork is split between two vendors: Tom Nook and Redd. In my town, all paintings are in the item group that was determined to be the "rare group," so them showing up in Nook's store is, well, rare. I just have one painting left to get from him, but it has yet to pop up. Redd, on the other hand, only shows up once a month. I have played through the entire month of August and only just at the tail-end did I get a notice saying that he'd be in town on September 2nd. IF I'm lucky, he'll have at least one piece of art that I need. If not...
Anyways...
Once we hit Day 60, I'll be switching the series from "Daily" to "Events Only" which means I will only be showing off holidays and other special events. I'll still be playing it a little bit each day just to check to see if I can get any remaining paintings, as that's easier than going through the process of loading -> change the clock -> go to Nook's -> save & quit -> repeat.

I've talked about this while recording both Animal Crossing and Half-Life episodes, but part of me really wants to do some experimentation with doing old-school camcorder-style Let's Plays. For those not in the know, way back before capture cards were cheap & common, many folks had to make-do with camcorders or webcams. There was an entire generation that was defined by it. Hell, even I did my fair share of Let's Plays using just my camera. At any rate, part of me was curious as to if I could try to bring the same level of effort I put into my Metroid or Pokemon Let's Plays, but restrict what tech I could use to make them. Things like using my Canon PowerShot SX 30 IS to film the gameplay AND bios, the latter of which would be a physical print-out or hand-done bio put up on a whiteboard or corkboard.
I think it'd be kinda fun!
(That being said... I still need to make the watch pages look more like an old-school video page...)
